No, I've just been playing with some new web toys and gotten some motivation from somewhere to do some work on stuff I normally wounldn't because I procratsinate too much.

I've seen a common trend when people are meeting up and then having photos taken of their group... if more then one person has a camera then they seem to want the photos taken on every single camera.

I don't understand it - does the owner of each camera think their photo will look better then the first one? Even though the shot is being taken from the same place, under the same lighting conditions? In fact I would hazard a guess that that photo might look worse due to the extended 'pose time' while waiting for the shot to be taken...

There's a very simple solution to this - share the pictures. Why can't people be contempt with having the picture emailed to them? Or even getting it from Flickr, Facebook, Picasa, MySpace or whatever...?

It gets even worse at weddings. Nothing pisses me off more then being at a wedding and seeing almost everyone with their own camera and holding it up to take photos every second. 9 times out of 10 you'll hear the 'bip-beep' and then 'cherclick' that the camera makes, and the flash will go off, then they have to chimp the photo to make sure it looks right and try again.

If you are at a wedding you aren't there to take photos - that is what the photographer is for, this is why the couple pays him. Instead you are supposed to be there to watch the ceremony, maybe even enjoy it! You want a photo? Consider buying a print! Heck, most of the time the photographer makes the photos available online for a period of time (screen resolution of course, not print worthy - he would loose money if this was the case), or he sends the proofs to the couple who can then send them out to their friends.

Unfortunately it seems people are just plain cheap these days - if they can find a way to get something for free they will. Try quoting someone for a website - Its a very strong possibility that you'll hear 'oh maybe my nephew can do it...'
